Moctezume Agate & Gold Rutilated Quartz Necklace

“Here Comes the Sun”.  I’ve had this Moctezuma Agate from for awhile now. Couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do with it as there’s a hole with a druzy edge smack dab in the middle of it. Then I had an idea to solder a piece of sterling silver wire right in the middle where the hole would be and give it a nice spiral design.  Think I did ok with it!  Added a sweet little oval Gold Rutilated Quartz to compliment the pretty Agate. Anyway this necklace is named “Here Comes the Sun” because the sun just hasn’t decided if it really wants to come out today or not. But it’s here for now.  The stones are bezel set in serrated fine silver on a sterling silver backplate. I added 3 silver pebbles for accent and a hand formed bail to hang on the sterling silver rolo chain. Backside is stamped with my makers mark and sterling. Pendant measures 1-1/4” x 2-1/4” from top of the bail. Gave the silver a slightly darker patina. Very unique one of a kind piece.  Moctezuma Agates are from Chihuahua, Mexico. It is characterized by strong pastel colored banding.  Supposedly there has been no production of these agates for many years.
